During my dissertation exam, commission composed of several professors was asking me questions and one professor asked me what was the difference between glucuronidation and methylation. I had no idea what methylation was and I didn’t know what the difference might be. I didn’t have a clue if I should describe some chemical reaction or an organ where it takes place. I had no idea what it was all about.
In my mind, I thought, „Lord Jesus Christ, give me an answer.“ Everyone was looking at me, waiting for my answer. At that moment, I got an idea to talk about glucuronidation, because I was able to describe it. Basically, I only repeated what I had already said, just in other words. God gave me an absolute assurance and the professors thought I knew how to answer. But I didn’t know it at all!
I looked at the professor and was aware that I did not answer her. She asked me how glucuronides are excreted from the body. I replied: “Via urine”. Then she asked me how are methylation products excreted from a body. I had no idea. God immediately gave me the answer, so I replied: “In bile”. It was correct! The professor was satisfied and thanked me for my answer.
It was really incredible! God can give us the answers to all the questions and so clearly!
I asked my friends to pray for this exam. And God really revealed himself. I had never heard of methylation products of this kind being excreted in bile before. It was not part of my study and I did not have any literature to describe it in detail. After this exam, I asked God, where to get relevant literature for my PhD study. And he showed me a book that is still one of the most important books in my study.
