I would like to share my recent (2023) testimony about how powerful God is. I was a normal high schooler at school for future healthcare workers. Like everyone else, I had to take a school leaving exam called Maturita. But not every final exam is the same!
From the very beginning, there was a complicated situation for both students and teachers. We had online lessons due to COVID-19 for 2 years. The curriculum was changed because of it and we didn’t learn many important topics. Insufficient knowledge combined with not enough professors to teach it was a mess.
During the final months before taking the school leaving exam, I started to feel anxious and depressed. I couldn’t focus properly. My situation wasn’t improving for days and weeks. I couldn’t sleep and was just surviving the theoretical and practical lessons. I reached a point where I was happy to stay awake in class. I missed a lot of school days because my mental health was deteriorating. I also had to decide which university I would attend after high school and prepare for the entrance tests.
I COULDN’T DO ANY OF IT!
I was asking Jesus to help me get through it. I knew I wasn’t strong enough to do it by myself. Jesus helped me in the past – not only with school but in daily life. I was healed after prayer to Him many times.
I asked Stano (the leader of our Bible study group) for prayers and I went to meet him in person as well. He was talking about the spiritual root of my problems and how to receive God’s help. Other members of the group prayed for me too, also during the time I was taking the Maturita exam.
The first part was practical and even though I wasn’t really good at it, I did it. I even got a great mark for it! It was the first time I got this practical stuff right!
There was a problem with administration in the second part but thanks to God, everything was solved. We were praying and God answered!
When I had to write an essay, I decided to tell my story about how I felt God’s power for the first time. I had a severe knee pain and my doctor predicted it would go away in 2+ years. But right after prayer, the pain stopped and days after, I was able to exercise in PE class! (You can read more about it here: https://zivyjezisvpraxi.sk/knee-healed-after-a-prayer/)
I wasn’t ashamed of God and told people about Him. I opened myself to receive God’s help that way.
People were praying for me during the exam from Slovak language. Thanks to Jesus, I was able to graduate from Slovak and I got the grade 1 (the best result possible). I was the only one from my class to achieve that!
