Me and my 4-year-old daughter Dalia were sick. She’s a type 1 diabetic and got a high fever on Thursday evening. On Friday, I thought to myself that we would get through this alone. I didn’t want to bother Stano (who leads our Bible study & and prayer group) by asking for prayers. On the following day, my daughter was still sleeping a lot, battling a fever.
I kindly asked Stano, Vlada and all the other members of the group to pray for us. I wasn’t able to lower her temperature by using cold towels or medication. Her urine was also containing ketones.
An hour later, as Stano was praying for her, her condition started to improve and she seemed more lively. Body temperature was lower and even ketones disappeared!
Her recovery was quickly progressing and her fever disappeared. She was completely okay in just 2 days. It was a big miracle as she is diabetic and any disease can be a real struggle to get rid of.
During the following week (17.2. 2024) I realised her blood sugar levels are quite stabilized after a very long time. She was at 5-7 mmol/L continuously which is very good!
On the 3rd day, it was „my turn“. I got sick and my lungs were hurting. I was coughing very uglily and felt weak. Most of the time, I was alone with my daughter, so I was afraid of who would take care of her while I was recovering. Stano was still praying for us and I felt supported from Christ. On the same day, my mom took my daughter and I was able to rest.
My lungs were healing and cough stopped. I would also like to add that ever since I started to read Stano’s book (Discovering the gospel of Jesus Christ) and also believe, pray and actively try to find my relationship with Jesus, I felt better – almost like renewed. I’m stronger to fight my daughter’s diabetes. Relationships in my family started to mend, I’m calmer and even my bad thoughts disappeared. I wasn’t able to accept my daughter’s diagnosis. I was living in constant fear and my own health worsened because of it. I wasn’t sure how we would manage it all.
Since we met Jesus, everything has been restored. I found a new source of energy and now I know that the Holy Spirit guides me in anything I do.
