February 28, 2023 marked one year since our son was born. He was born prematurely—six weeks early—due to a medical error that the doctors admitted to. He could have been born on time, with fully developed organs and without complications. But we forgave the doctors during prayer.
When they called me saying my wife had to undergo an emergency C-section, I asked Stano, who leads our prayer group, to pray for us. Others in the group joined in prayer. We prayed that Jesus would be glorified and that everything would be okay. We had been praying for my wife and our son even during pregnancy.
Jesus glorified Himself miraculously! Our son was born weighing 1.9 kg and measuring 31 cm. To our surprise, he began breathing on his own right away. The next day, he was transferred to a regional hospital because he needed artificial lung ventilation—his lungs weren’t developed enough, as is often the case with premature babies. His weight also started dropping. We prayed for the development of all his organs and for him to start gaining weight.
On the 7th day after birth, he was able to breathe on his own and was taken off the machines.
On the 10th day, his condition had improved so much that he was transferred back to our district hospital.
On the 15th day, he regained his birth weight.
By the 18th day, his appetite visibly increased—he almost finished an entire bottle of milk. The nurses were so happy about him. They told us he was clearly thriving more than other babies and that he stood out among them. The doctors confirmed it.
On the 23rd day, he began drinking from a bottle on his own and already weighed 2.2 kg. Praise God, just a few days later, he was discharged from the hospital. He didn’t even need a blood transfusion, unlike other premature babies.
About two months after birth, they ran further tests. His kidneys were confirmed to be healthy, and his joints were fine. However, they found a small spot on his brain—something common among premature babies. They also diagnosed two heart conditions (an atrial septal defect and a patent ductus arteriosus). He also developed a hernia. We continued praying for his healing.
Jesus triumphed over every diagnosis! Just a few days ago—on February 27, 2023—our son had his one-year check-up and a full medical evaluation. Praise God, everything is absolutely fine! All his organs developed properly, and he’s growing so quickly.
I want to praise Jesus for His blessing and victory! I thank Jesus Christ for overcoming the health complications that arose despite the doctors’ error. I thank Him for everything He does for us and for how He works in our lives.
