It was spring when me and my husband decided to buy a new chest of drawers. We were interested in one but we couldn’t make the time to order it. I was busy and felt that I should wait until the end of summer.
In September, I found a post in my group for mothers advertising furniture from the same collection. We were waiting only for a day – just to surrender this decision to Christ and to pray for it. I told myself (and in my prayer as well) that if it was God’s will for us to have it, it would be still available. I put my trust in God that He will even manage the transportation.
The next day, I found the ad edited saying it was sold. I still had a feeling from the Holy Spirit to text the seller. I was hesitating but then I realized the Devil wouldn’t encourage me in a such thing.
I texted her and it was available! We rented a car and my brother-in-law offered to help my husband carry it. I was glad – the seller was really nice and she packed the shelves to help us carry it easily. She even ordered better components for us thanks to Jesus!
We are so happy to have the space we desperately needed! I like the furniture so much – I loved the idea of having heavy furniture but the price for it was too high… this was more affordable. God knew it was better for us to have a tall piece of furniture then just a chest of drawers! This one is also narrower and takes up less space which is convenient! God gave us even more than we asked for. We didn’t plan to buy second hand furniture but when the opportunity came, we suddenly saw a lot of advantages – for example when you have a little kid, stuff can be easily destroyed So we will be more relaxed around it compared to a new piece!
31 So do not worry, saying, ‘What shall we eat?’ or ‘What shall we drink?’ or ‘What shall we wear?’ 32 For the pagans run after all these things, and your heavenly Father knows that you need them. 33 But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well. 34 Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own. (Matthew 6:31-34, NIV)
