When I was 31 years old (November 2017), doctors diagnosed me with breast cancer. It was quite a surprise for me because I have been checked by my doctor several times. This type of tumor is very rare for women my age. Tumor was around 2,7 cm. After a histology check, doctors found out that the tumor was growing very slowly but they suggested mastectomy because it was quite big. I agreed. They analysed my lymph nodes and found one micrometastasis in one of the lymph nodes. Scenario in my head was horrible and I was scared. We started to pray right away. I became a member of the “prayer wall” in the Apostolic Church in Kosice. People there were very supportive and I am so thankful for that.
Also Stano (the leader of our praying group) and our whole praying group were praying for me. It was a long distance prayer. We have many experiences with healing people through the power of prayer – both long distance prayers or the personal ones where we put our hands on people as it was in Jesus’s and his disciples‘ time when people were healed from many different illnesses. I could feel that I am not alone in it and that it will not be as tragic as some people could start to imagine. I was calm. My mother was extremely scared but God gave her peace through her dreams. God spoke to her through 3 dreams and filled her soul with peace.
One day somebody knocked on our door. It was our neighbour. She came to share her very beautiful dream with us. In the dream she could see my grandfather who was 89 years old in the dream, walking with a sweet little girl. Today my grandfather is 92 years old and he is still very active.
Our neighbour did not know about our problem and she also didn’t know about my problem with conception. Doctors told me that it is impossible for me to become pregnant. I would like to emphasize that I have been married since 2015 and we still haven’t got any children.
Doctor suggested for me to freeze eggs because of the tumor. He said that we could try artificial insemination when I will be healthy again. I did not like that idea but I went to a clinic – I don’t even know why. After they took my blood for testing, doctors could see that the level of my HCG hormone was rising. They told me that I am very possibly pregnant. Few days later doctors confirmed that and told me I was pregnant. This information was breathtaking for them because their plan of treating my disease was incompatible with my pregnancy.
Tumor and pregnancy were confirmed in the same month.
My family and I knew that it was the voice of God, the message, a very clear sign from heaven: “I am here Barbora, you don’t have to be scared, I will lead you through it. And I will give you much more.” So without a doubt, I signed the paper that I don’t agree with the “micro interruption” as the doctors named it. And I decided to go for the operation after the 3rd trimester.
I was still calm, even though I was a bit nervous about it and people around me were much more worried. I believed that everything will be fine. And it turned out good. I didn’t need chemotherapy because the tumor was growing slowly and radiotherapy is not allowed in the pregnancy.
After giving birth I started the “pill therapy” as the doctors suggested. I don’t want you to think that I am advising you not to cooperate with the doctors. Do what they tell you for sure but also listen to the Holy Spirit at the same time. Our daughter was born healthy and she weighted more than 4 kg. We gave her middle name “Božidara” which means “the God’s gift”, – to remind us of this great testimony of the power of Jesus Christ.
My daughter is soon to be 3 years old and it was 4 years ago since doctors found the tumor and nothing came back. But I know that I have to stay close to God, so he would help me to avoid the same mistakes that brought me to sickness. Genetics was negative, so I think that my body was influenced by extrinsic factors.
It is not easy to live in peace nowadays but through the Bible Jesus gives us really good guidance on how to handle your life and to find out the purpose of your life. Jesus Christ had left us the comforter the Holy Spirit to talk to and to lead us every day. Do not stay deaf because life with the Holy Spirit is much easier.
Stano, the leader of our praying group, helped me to understand simply and practically how God’s mightiness influences us and works in our daily life. Through all this I was able to understand and receive God’s healing which is here and ready for each of you.
Strong and honest prayers were supporting me and I could receive God’s blessing. Everything is possible in God and miracles are happening also today. There are a lot of testimonies about God’s mightiness and I hope that my testimony will be an encouragement for your faith.
