When I started a new job, blessed by Jesus, I got to know three colleagues. There was one employee I had heard many negative things about. It was because of his alcohol addiction. Since I know that the sun shines on both the good and the bad and God’s grace also falls on both the good and the bad, I paid no attention to it. I know that the demon of alcoholism is not a problem for Jesus to remove.
My capable, wise and successful boss is a good man. He spoke to me about this colleague many times. He mentioned cases when he had a problem with this employee because of alcohol. Whenever he talked about it, it made him slightly angry — the memory of all the damage, his worries and consequences. Yet his heart would not allow him to fire the man, even though he had every right to do so.
He was worried and I felt sorry for him. He said he had already tried everything: kindness as well as strictness. Nothing worked.
I told him that for Jesus Christ this was not a difficult problem to solve, so we would pray and then simply praise Jesus for what He would do. And He surely would act. My boss agreed.
I told members of the prayer group led by Stano. During the following month, we created a prayer wall for this man. Jesus prepared circumstances and time to tell him the Gospel of Jesus Christ. It happened easily and naturally. Step by step, my colleague converted. He accepted Jesus Christ into his heart, and his life was completely transformed.
I said to myself, “Now they must be having a party in heaven.” About a week later, my boss and another colleague called me asking what I had done to the coworker. He used to be always drunk and suddenly, he seemed like a completely different person. He truly changed, started doing his work properly and restored his relationships. He stopped swearing, arguing and irritating others. I said, “I did nothing to him; it was Jesus Christ.”
Since then, we have small gatherings where we pray, read the Bible, discuss testimonies and praise Jesus. Some people still shake their heads because they do not understand how such a change is possible. Others are coming to Jesus. Even friends of my converted colleague (the same group he used to spend time with) now admire him and use him as an example. Others laugh but a seed has been planted. We also pray for them because this certainly is not a coincidence.
This great testimony quickly spread throughout the whole village and the surrounding area. People often come to us asking how it happened and we are able to tell to them about Jesus Christ. I believe that our group will gradually grow and that the lost sheep will return to the Lord’s flock.
Work has become easier and relationships between people have improved. Our boss is satisfied with other colleagues but always gladly returns to our section.
He lives elsewhere and only comes on weekends. In spring, he wanted to hire a new person who would responsibly guard the property as well as live in the boss’s complex which is a new two-room apartment. Before, he could not rely on this colleague due to alcohol, even though he lived right next door. But now things are different.
As soon as the boss completed his complex, he handed the keys over to this disciple of Jesus. My coworker manages the boiler room. He placed Bible verses on the walls there. He calls them safety regulations saying that if we follow them, everything will function.
I ask everyone who reads this testimony to pray for the ministry in this workplace, that the Lord Jesus Christ would guide our steps and that His work would continue to grow.
